PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable normally recognizing the waste toner recovering state, irrespective of the installation relation between a cleaning member and a toner sensor. SOLUTION: The waste toner recovering device is provided with a toner sensor 33 in a discharged toner storing container 31 for storing the waste toner T scraped from a photoreceptor 2 or a transfer member 6 by the cleaning member 14, and a shielding body 32 for shielding between the upper part of the toner sensor 33 and the cleaning member 14 is installed so that it may occupy an area slightly larger than that of the toner sensor 33. Thus, even in such the parts arrangement that the toner sensor 33 is unavoidably arranged near a path where the waste toner T drops from the cleaning member 14, the discharged toner T scraped by the cleaning member 14 is made to drop without sticking to the toner sensor 33, then, such the erroneous recognition is avoided that the waste toner recovering container is filled with the toner, even though the waste toner sticks to the toner sensor 33. |
