<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the generation quantity of hydrogen even during storage or use in a state of the normal temp. or higher without lowering capacity as an oxygen absorbent by using an iron powder to which a silica powder with a specific particle size is added as a main agent of a ferrous oxygen absorbent. SOLUTION: A silica powder with an average particle size of 100μm or less and an iron powder with an average particle size of 150μm or less are mixed and the resulting mixture is mixed with separately prepared water pref. infiltrated into a porous substance. A metal halide is added to the iron powder and the silica powder when both powders are mixed. In mixing, a stirrer capable of sufficiently performing mixing may be used. An A-component based on the iron powder, the silica powder and the metal halide and a B-component composed of water or a water-containing porous granular matter are separately prepared to be together packed by an air permeable packing material to obtain an oxygen absorbent. This oxygen absorbent is reduced in the generation quantity of hydrogen even if stored at 50 deg.C.</p> |
