<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an abrupt fuel injection in the initial stage of fuel injection in an engine to which a common rail system is applied, enable fine feeding of fuel, and reduce engine operation noises and NOx emissions. <P>SOLUTION: The common rail system comprises: a first common rail connected to a fuel pump through a fuel feeding pipe and provided with a first pressure control valve for regulating the fuel pressure inside the fuel pump and a first pressure sensor for detecting the fuel pressure inside the first pressure control valve and outputting corresponding signals; a second common rail connected to the first common rail through a connecting pipe and provided with a second pressure control valve for regulating the fuel pressure and a second pressure sensor for detecting the fuel pressure inside the second pressure control valve and outputting corresponding signals; and a control unit controlling the drive of the fuel pump based on the signals received from the first pressure sensor and the second pressure sensor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
