PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a programmable display that can facilitate the collection and the like of information outside an internal memory of a controller by extending objects accessible to the display beyond the internal memory. SOLUTION: The programmable display has functional parts each having at least either a function of acquiring contact information and internal information about input/output devices 23 and displaying information depending on the acquired information or a function of performing an input operation to the devices, a processing program for issuing instructions for executing the functions, and a conversion program for generating absolute addresses identifying the destinations of the instructions. The functional parts receive an input value including information about connection between the display and a control system, and execute the conversion program according to the received input value to generate an absolute address.
