PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seismic isolator used for a shelf for displaying merchandise in convenience stores, department stores and general stores, etc., or the shelf for keeping and displaying articles in general households and museums. SOLUTION: The seismic isolator is composed of a plurality of support members 2 disposed at intervals on the lower surface part of the shelf 1 and one, two or more damper members 3 arranged thereon. The support members 2 are formed by disposing an outer peripheral frame 5 having a peripheral wall 4 semicircularly curved in an inner side direction between the lower surface part of the shelf 1 and a floor surface 6, arranging small hard spherical bodies 7 on the floor surface 6 inside a space part of the outer peripheral frame 5, mounting a spherical body pressing iron plate 8 formed smaller than the outer peripheral frame 5 on each small hard spherical body 7, and performing fixation with a slight gap between the lower end peripheral edge part 5b of the outer peripheral frame 5 and the floor surface 6 at the lower surface part of the shelf 1. The damper members 3 are formed by arranging one, two or more elastic spheres or elastoplastic spheres 21 on the floor surface 6 inside a damper coating plate 22 fixed to the lower surface of an iron plate 11 for attachment.
