The vehicle (1) has at least one energy converter (2) and at least one energy storage unit (3), whereby the energy converter is controlled by a control unit (4). The method involves extrapolating driving parameters for a driver of the vehicle into a usable magnetic braking torque dependent on the driving style of the driver. The energy converter is controlled to generate a usable regenerative braking moment when an arrangement for controlling the acceleration of the vehicle is enabled.
