PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen vibration and noise by facilitating the assembly of a rotor to a stator and magnetizing a magnetic pole which is attached askew in circumferential direction to the permanent magnet material of the rotor with an inexpensive facility thereby reducing cogging torque, in the method of manufacturing a permanent magnet motor. SOLUTION: This relates to the method of manufacturing the concentrated winding type of permanent magnet rotor where the number of magnetic poles of the rotor 21 is smaller than the number of slots of the stator 1 and three-phase winding is concentratedly wound severally on the teeth parts 3 of the stator 1 arranged in opposition around the rotor 21. The method is as follows. A plate-shaped magnetic member 31, which is wider than the teeth part 3 and extends aslant in circumferential direction, is arranged between the teeth parts 3, where the winding 4 forming one phase of three-phase winding 4 is wound, and a ring-shaped permanent magnet material 14 provided around the iron core 22 of the rotor 21, and a current is let flow to the winding 4 wound on the teeth parts 3, whereby the section 14a of the permanent magnet material 14 corresponding to the magnetic member 31 is magnetized and also the section 14b of the permanent magnet material 14 adjacent to the magnetic member 31 is magnetized into reverse polarity.
