PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake control device capable of eliminating shortage of initial braking force while the durability of a liquid pressure source is enhanced. SOLUTION: The brake control device is structured so that a shutoff valve installed between a master cylinder and each wheel cylinder is left open for a certain period of time from the start of the pressurization of the master cylinder when a pump as the liquid pressure source is to be driven at the time of starting the pressurization of the master cylinder while the durability is enhanced by using a gear pump as the liquid pressure source.
