PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head control method, a head control device, and a disk drive in which a head performing reading and writing of data can be retracted safely when abnormality occurs in a clock signal. SOLUTION: A clock abnormality detecting part 105a detects whether a frequency of a clock signal generated by a clock generating part 100 and input to a hard disk device 100 is abnormal or not, when the frequency abnormality of the clock signal is detected, a head retracting control part 105b controls so that a head 109 is retracted to a retracting region 110a on a magnetic disk 110.
