PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin film magnetic head corresponding to high frequency which is adaptive to high recording plane density of≥100(Gb/p) and secures a sufficient overwriting property though it has narrow track width, and which has yoke length of≤5.5μm, and provide a magnetic recording device and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: A first pole part P1 is projected on one plane of a first pole part 211 in a medium opposing plane side, and an upper end has a reduced width. A second pole part 2 is opposed to the upper end of the first pole part P1 through a gap film 24 with the same width. In the first pole part P1, a magnetic film 214 being adjacent to the gap film 24 is etched while matching the width of the second pole part P2 in both sides of a width direction, residual parts S1, S2 of the magnetic film 214 exist at a bottom part of a recessed part caused by etching, film thickness of the residual parts S1, S2 are increased as approaching to a root part od the first pole part P1.
