An electric lamp holder has a hollow casing 1 within which is located a spring- loaded, hollow, headed insulating plug 7 into the rear end of which a cable C is secured, the bared end C<SP>1</SP> of the cable being crimped to a contact cap 12 which is urged by the spring loading of the plug into contact with the base of an inserted lamp. The contact cap 12 is a snap fit in a recess in the plug. The head of the plug comprises a flange having peripheral cut-out portions 10 (Fig. 3, not shown) to increase its resiliency. Before the lamp B is inserted the surface head of the plug is completely planar, whereas after the lamp is inserted it assumes a concave shape as shown in Fig. 2. The inerted lamp bulb may be of the bayonet type, or Edison screw type. |
