PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underlay sheet of a food vessel for an animal having repellent efficacy for unclean and unpleasant insect pests such as cockroaches, flies, mites and ants. SOLUTION: The underlay sheet of the food vessel for the animal is obtained by coating or impregnating a sheet with a vegetable extract composition consisting essentially of a liquid containing an extract from Artemisia princeps, a liquid containing an extract from Houttuynia cordata and a fixing agent. A persistence improver for enhancing the persistence of the repellent efficacies for the insects is contained in the vegetable extract composition. The underlay sheet of the food vessel for the animal is prepared by coating or impregnating the sheet with a vegetable extract composition obtained by further adding at least one kind of a green tea extract ingredient, a Sasa albo-marginata extract ingredient, a leaf carbonized extract ingredient of Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer, a carbonized extract ingredient of Zanthoxylum piperitum, a subterranean stem extract ingredient of Chamaecyparis obtusa, a leaf extract ingredient of Acorus calamus L. var. asiaticus Pers. and a leaf extract ingredient of Eriobotrya japonica Lindl. to the vegetable extract composition consisting essentially of the liquid containing the extract from the Artemisia princeps, the liquid containing the extract from the Houttuynia cordata and the fixing agent.
