PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing roller whose structure (in particular, rubber thickness and core bar diameter) is optimized and whose hardness and compressed permanent distortion are low and to obtain a satisfactory image even after long disuse period of the roller. SOLUTION: The developing roller used in contact with a latent image carrier comprises a core shaft, an elastic layer formed on the periphery of the core shaft, and a surface layer formed around the elastic layer. In the developing roller, the Asker-C hardness of a sheet with a thickness of 6 mm which forms the elastic layer is 30 to 55. In addition, the outer diameter (d) of the core shaft and the rubber thickness (t) of the elastic layer satisfy the conditions of 0.25≤t/d≤1.0 and 2.0≤t≤6.0. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
