PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stainless steel laminate which, in the etching of stainless steel foil, prevents the pitting corrosion of an etching resist and the stainless steel foil in an aqueous solution containing halogen anions represented by hydrochloric acid treatment indispensable for securing the adhesive strength of the stainless steel foil and makes the high precision processing of stainless steel possible and a method for producing the laminate. SOLUTION: In the stainless steel resin laminate in which stainless steel and a resin to be an insulating layer are joined together, the thickness of an oxide film existing on the surface of the stainless steel separated from the resin is 100-150Å, and chromium in an amount of 25-40% is contained as the component of the oxide film.
