<p>PURPOSE: To provide an air conditioner of which a front panel free to open and close a suction opening is provided with a space-saving opening/closing drive mechanism, and which prevents dust from getting into a main body in nonuse and maintains cleanup without any disadvantage in miniaturizing the main body. CONSTITUTION: The suction opening 3 is formed in the front part of the unit main body 1 accommodating a heat exchanger 9 and a blower 11, and the opening/closing drive mechanism 5 is installed near this suction opening. A movable panel 6 is supported by this opening/closing drive mechanism for freely opening and closing the suction opening. The opening/closing mechanism is provided with link members 20 having one ends thereof pivotally supported on the body 1 in the near vicinity and the other ends thereof connected on the panel at positions spaced a part from each other so that the panel can be opened and closed to the suction port by swinging the link members 20 to separate and approach.</p> |
