Disclosed is a cable holding device (1) particularly for an electrical cable (2) in motor vehicles. Said cable holding device (1) comprises a circumferential element (3) fixing the cable and a base (8) locking the cable holding device in an opening (9) of a motor vehicle door (10) or similar. The circumferential element (3) can be closed in order to fully encompass the cable (2).
