The invention relates to a method for the operation of a communication device (13.1, 13.2, 13.4) and a communication device (13.1, 13.2, 13.4) with means for interference suppression in audio signals, whereby the communication device (13.1, 13.2, 13.4) broadcasts audio signals (8.1 to 8.3) into an environment (9) and records both said audio signals (8.1 to 8.3), including overlaid interference components caused by the environment, containing at least echoes (8.2) and reverberations (8.3) and audio signals (15.1 to 15.3) from an external noise source, preferably a communication device user (15), including the interference components (15.2 and 15.3) thereof, caused by the environment and a first algorithm (5) determines a spatial impulse reply (14) for the environment (9). The method for operation of a communication device and the communication device with means for interference suppression in audio signals is characterised in that a second interference suppression algorithm (16) is applied to the recorded audio signals (15.1 to 15.3), for the external noise source, preferably for the communication terminal user (15), which uses a reverberation time (T60) in the suppression, determined from the spatial impulse reply (14), provided by the first algorithm (5). |
