Contrast card (10) comprises at least two colored zones (Z1-Z5) corresponding to the average color of at least two facial regions of a panel of individuals. Independent claims are also included for: (1) determining at least one colorimetric characteristic of a composition by coating a contrast card as above with a layer of the composition, measuring the color of zones Z1-Z5, and of a zone (Z6) corresponding to the average color of a body region other than the face, through the support (not defined) and the composition, and determining at least one colorimetric characteristic of the composition as a function of the measured color differences between the zones; (2) producing a contrast card for evaluating at least one colorimetric characteristic of a composition by selecting a panel of individuals having the same skin type and, for each individual, either measuring the color of a body region other than the face and at least one facial region or measuring the color of at least two facial regions, and then calculating the average color for each region and printing the average colors onto a contrast card; (3) producing a composition for application on a given skin type by selecting a colorant using a contrast card as above and preparing the composition with this colorant.
