The method involves positioning an assembly constituted by a jaw and a valve (1), above a valve seat (101) arranged in an internal face (10) of a cylinder head (1). A valve stem (11) is inserted into the seat till lower part of jaw contacts with outer part of the seat so that axis of stem is centered on seat. The assembly is lifted till the lower part is completely removed from the face so that stem remains in a valve guide. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a device for implementing a valve mounting method (b) a six axes robot comprising a valve mounting method implementing device.
