A method of efficiently removing the solvent from a polymer solution formed by solution polymerization; and a solvent removing apparatus therefor. In particular, a method of removing the solvent from a polymer solution, comprising bringing a polymer solution into contact with steam to thereby remove the solvent through steam stripping, which method comprises the steps of feeding portion of steam into pipe (2) for transferring the polymer solution to solvent removal tank (1) and feeding the rest of steam into the solvent removal tank (1). It is preferred that providing that the total amount of steam is 100 mass%, the amount of steam fed to the pipe (2) be in the range of 10 to 90 mass%. As the polymer contained in the polymer solution, there can be mentioned various polymers, such as butadiene rubber, styrene- butadiene rubber and ethylene-alpha-olefin-nonconjugated diene copolymer rubber. The solvent is preferably n-hexane, n-heptane, cyclohexane, toluene, etc.
