The bearing, fitted between a recess (2) and a shaft (3) and comprising outer and inner rings (4, 6) with rolling balls (8) between their races (5, 7), is pre-stressed axially by a ring (11a) thrust against a radial face of a tolerance ring (10) and having two or more axial lugs (11b) with fixing tips (11c) to engage with the inner ring. The pre-stressing ring, which can be of metal or a moulded synthetic material, has a series of undulations and is elastic in an axial direction, with the tolerance ring fitted at least partly between it and the inner bearing ring. |
