The optical backsight (1-3) on the competition target shooting rifle is mounted on a holder (1-4). This engages a baseplate (1- 5) with vertical (1-1) and horizontal (1-2) adjustment wheels. The horizontal adjustment wheel is duplicated on either side of the plane of symmetry on the vertical sight line. The vertical and horizontal adjustment wheels are situated below the horizontal sight line. A mounting module (1-6) is rigidly attached to the rifle. The adjustment spindles may be made of steel, the guide rails of brass and the sight body of hardened aluminum.
