GAS BARRIER BASE MATERIAL, DISPLAY SUBSTRATE AND ORGANIC EL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas barrier base material having high gas barrier properties and good surface flatness, a display substrate using the same and an organic EL display using the display substrate. SOLUTION: The gas barrier base material is composed of a transparent plastic base material, a flattened layer provided at least on one side of the transparent plastic base material and a transparent inorganic compound layer provided between the flattened layer and the transparent plastic base material and/or on the flattened layer. The display substrate is constituted by providing a transparent conductive layer on the gas barrier base material. The organic EL display is composed of the display substrate having a transparent electrode layer formed by patterning the transparent conductive layer, the organic EL light emitting element layer provided on the transparent electrode layer and the counter electrode provided on the organic EL light emitting element layer.
