PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience in an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus by changing-over an imaging method in response to a situation. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus 1 includes: a probe 10, a transmitting part 12, a receiving part 14; an image constituting part 16, and a display part 18. The transmitting part 12 comprises a modulation code changeover part 13 for code-modulating a fundamental waveform and generating a driving signal to drive the probe 10. The receiving part 14 comprises a demodulation code changeover part 15 for code-demodulating a reflection echo signal which the probe 10 receives. The modulation code changeover part 13 and the demodulation code changeover part 15 have a plurality of different modulation/demodulation codes, so as to perform code-modulation/code-demodulation through the use of one selected modulation/demodulation code.
