PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner which ensures a stabilized charge amount of each toner particle, also achieves uniform charge of the entire toner, maintains stability of a charged state even in repetitive use, and can provide a stable image. SOLUTION: The toner is obtained by adding two or more external additives to toner base particles including a binder resin and a colorant, wherein the external additives are added by multistage processing, and in the final stage of the multistage processing, an external additive including particles of a long chain fatty acid or its salt is added at a higher addition temperature than that in the other stages. In the final stage of the multistage processing, the external additive including the particles of the long chain fatty acid or its salt can be added at a higher share than that in the other stages and at the higher addition temperature than that in the other stages.
