PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a display of an auxiliary line for assisting a reversing operation in a requisite minimum value. SOLUTION: A template image of either a connector for a vehicle to be connected or an identification mark fixed near a location just above the connector photographed in advance by a photographing means is stored in advance. It is determined whether or not a portion coinciding with the template image is present in the image showing the rear portion of own vehicle photographed by the photographing means. When it is determined that the portion coinciding with the template image is present, an auxiliary line extending from the connector of the own vehicle in a direction just rear part of the own vehicle is drawn and displayed on the image at the rear part of the own vehicle.
