PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for easily transporting a linear guide device with its rail and rail cover packaged into a smaller size. SOLUTION: The linear guide device comprises the rail having raceway grooves in both side faces, the rail cover covering the upper face of the rail for engaging at its side edge with the rail, a saddle slider for linearly moving the rail, and rolling bodies for circulating in a connection passage provided in the slider and rolling in the raceway grooves of the rail. A plurality of cutout portions are provided in the side edge of the rail cover for helping wrapping the rail cover into a rolled package. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
