PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine that exhibits a better performance in removing solids such as sludge stains and the reliability and durability of which is improved. SOLUTION: The washing machine agitates clothing in a dry state by supplying washing water to the clothing in a washing and spin-drying tub 34 by a washing water supply means 39 after rotationally driving an agitation blade 35 for a prescribed period by a control means 47 and draining the water out of an outer tub 33 by a draining means 41, makes the solids separated flow out of the outer tub 33 by supplying washing water after separating the solids such as sludge strains from the clothing. In cleaning to be performed later by using a washing liquid, the machine can advantageously remove solids.
