PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shield an electromagnetic wave radiated from a projector part 2 to an observer side without spoiling a cleaning function of the projector part 2 arranged below a housing. SOLUTION: A shield material 11 which shields an electromagnetic wave is arranged between the projector part 2 which is arranged below the housing 1 and a front lower part 1a of the housing 1. The rear projector is not so structured as to display an image directly from a transmission screen 4, so almost no electromagnetic wave is radiated from the transmission screen 4 and the majority of an electromagnetic wave radiated from the front of the housing can be cut off by interposing the shield material 11 between the projector part 2 and the front lower part 1a of the housing 1.
