PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion generating apparatus capable of weakening an electric field generated between two discharge parts, and an electric apparatus equipped with it. SOLUTION: This ion generating apparatus is equipped with a first discharge part 11, a second discharge part 12, a first voltage impressing means (a rectifier diode 4, a capacitor 6, a switching element 8 for driving a transformer, a transformer 9, and a diode 13) to generate a positive ion by impressing a voltage obtained by biasing an ac impulse voltage to positive on the first discharge part 11, when a negative voltage is supplied from an input ac power supply 1, a second voltage impressing means (a rectifier diode 5, a capacitor 7, the switching element 8 for driving a transformer, a transformer 10, and a diode 14) to generate a negative ion by impressing a voltage obtained by biasing the ac impulse voltage to negative on the second discharge part 12, when a positive voltage is supplied from the input ac power supply 1.
