PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gate bar opening and closing device capable of increasing strength of a driving section of the gate bar opening and closing device and making a deformation difficult even if a gate bar is forced to open and close. SOLUTION: In the gate bar opening and closing device making the gate bar operate opening and closing by transferring power of a power source to a driving shaft (13) of the gate bar (14) through a link mechanism (18), the shaft end of the driving shaft is formed as an angle shaft (13a) having a regular polygonal section, the angle shaft is fitted in an angular hole (22a) having the same shape as that of the angle shaft formed in a link (22) of the link mechanism, and it is fastened by a fastening means. Since the link (22) can be fixed to the shaft end without providing any key and key-way, strength of a connecting section of the link and the shaft end can be increased, and the gate bar opening and closing device makes deformation difficult even if the gate bar is forced to open and close.
