The invention relates to medicine, particular to endovascular surgery, and permits to increase the amplitude longitudinal oscillation of a working head, and to improve operation reliability of the tool at the expense of smooth voltage change along the whole length of the waveguide, since the waveguide is designed as a cross-sectional core with successive decrease the diameter between proximal, middle and distal parts, wherein the diameter of the working head exceeds the diameter of the distal part by 1.5 times. The method of making the waveguide permits to obtain the predetermined tapered curvatures, of Fourier concentrator type, between the proximal, middle and distal parts by plasma electrolyte treatment of the cylindrical core blank and this is achieved by placing the blank in electrolyte at 0 to 90 degrees relative to the electrolyte plane, after which the blank is set to rotate around the longitudinal axis, then the blank is moved from the electrolyte along the longitudinal axis and for providing a tapered curvature of the Fourier concentrator type to a smaller diameter the blank is moved from the electrolyte along its longitudinal axis with displacement feed 1 mm according to the displacement values and obtaining the diameter.
