PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately display information related to tissue property of an subject tissue.

SOLUTION: A fractal dimension computing section 22 computes a fractal dimension D1and a fractal dimension D2related to a power spectrum shape for every portion of the liver 50. The fractal dimension ratio computing section 24 computes a fractal dimension ratio RD, or a ratio of the fractal dimension D1to the fractal dimension D2. A tissue property determining section 30 determines the tissue property for each potion of the liver 50 based on the fractal dimension D1and the fractal dimension ratio RD and comprehensively determines the tissue property for every portion. A color coding section 32 generates color coding information assigning a color corresponding to the tissue property based on the comprehensive determination result of the tissue property determining section 30 and outputs it to a tomogram forming section 14. The tomogram forming section 14 colors the tomogram based on the color coding information.
