PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup which has stable damping characteristics, is superior in followability at the time when high-x speed driving is employed, and which is easy to manufacture. SOLUTION: The optical pickup is provided with a substrate 1 in which a plurality of through-holes 1a are formed; wires 2, whose base end sides are inserted through the through-holes 1a of the substrate 1; a lens holder 4 supported on the tip side of the wire 2; and a holding member 3 arranged between the substrate 1 and the lens holder 4. The holding member 3 has a concave part 9a, which opens to the side direction, for filling a buffer material 7 and a clipped part 23 communicating with the concave part 9a. The wire 2 is arranged so that it accommodates in the concave part 9a and is soldered to the face 1b on the lens holder side 4 of the substrate 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
