摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device and a disk drive, wherein a small circuit scale is available and also a noise characteristic of an error detecting signal is not adversely affected, when a positional adjustment means for a photodetector is instaled. <P>SOLUTION: This optical pickup device 10 is equipped with a light source 1, an objective lens 5 for converging an outgoing light from the light source 1 to a disk 6, a hologram optical element 4 for diffracting a reflected light of the disk 6, and the photodetector 7 for detecting a diffracted light of the hologram optical element 4. The photodetector 7 is provided with a photodetecting pattern having a parting line almost orthogonally crossed with respect to the moving direction of a light spot on the photodetector caused by the change of a diffraction angle of the hologram optical element 4 based on the wavelength fluctuation of the light source 1, and the photodetecting pattern is constituted so as to include: the 1st photodetecting pattern for the error detection to detect one diffracted light (e.g. +1st order light) of the hologram optical element 4; and the 2nd photodetecting patterns I, J for the positional adjustment of photodetector to detect a diffracted light (e.g. -1st order light) which is different from the aforementioned one diffracted light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
