The invention relates to a method for producing in an especially simple manner therapeutic viral vectors which are free of marker genes in their therapeutically suitable form. The method uses marker genes that are both qualitatively and quantitatively useful and that are removed later on from the provirus contained in the producing cell line by rekombinase. The invention also describes examples of such therapeutic viral vectors.
