<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball 2 for improving performance for flying, controlling and for abrasion resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The golf ball 2 has a core, a cover and many dimples 8 formed on the surface of the cover. Shore D hardness of the cover is less than 58. A curved surface 14 extends from a position P5, which is downward by 10% of the depth from a dimple edge E in a depth direction, to a position P3, which is 50% downward. A ratio P of the number of dimples 8 having 0.5-3.0 mm of curvature radius r of the curved surface 14 with respect to the total number of dimples 8 is 50% or higher. An occupancy rate of a total surface area of the dimples 8 with respect to a surface area of a virtual sphere 12 is 73% or lower. An average value of contour lengths of the dimples 8 is 10.8-14.2 mm. Difference (Hi-Ho) between Shore D hardness (Hi) of the core surface and Shore D hardness (Ho) of the cover is 1-30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
