PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform air-conditioning control matching the temperature sensation of an occupant taking a temperature at the bottom of legs of the occupant into consideration. SOLUTION: This air-conditioner for a vehicle comprises an air-conditioning unit 5, for example, conditioning an air condition such as air temperature in a compartment by adjusting the temperature of air and blowing temperature-adjusted air from blow ports 100a-100d; an infrared temperature sensor 84 having detection elements R1-R36 arranged at an upper side in the compartment, dividing the surface temperature of a driver sitting on a driver's seat in the compartment into a plurality of portions, and noncontactly detecting it; and an air-conditioner ECU90 controlling the air-conditioning unit 5 in a manner to condition the air condition in the compartment based on the detected temperatures at a plurality of portions detected by the infrared temperature sensor 84. Thereby, the infrared temperature sensor 84 is arranged on the upper side in the compartment, so as to also detect the temperature at the bottom of the driver's legs. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
