<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic document filing method and an apparatus in which a document can be easily registered, labor required for acquiring the document is saved and a time required for acquiring the document can be shortened. <P>SOLUTION: A data receiving part 311 receives original data of an electronic document created or edited by using application software, and a data converting part 34 converts the received original data into display data that can be browsed without using application software, and holds the data in a display data holding part 333.
