<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication control method and a communication device which operate printers or the like with a fixed value while utilizing merits of DHCP operation and flexibly cope with replacement of devices operated with fixed values. <P>SOLUTION: Devices of which the IP addresses over a network are fixedly assigned and registered by users and devices of which the IP addresses over the network are dynamically assigned by a DHCP server and of which the MAC addresses are registered correspondingly to the IC addresses after communication are managed distinctively from each other. When an IP address is sent onto the network in response to the occurrence of a communication request, communication is executed after confirmation of a response from a device having this IP address and confirmation of unregistration of a MAC address corresponding to the IP address or coincidence with a registered MAC address in the case that the IP address is an address assigned by the DHCP server, and communication is executed after confirmation of a response from the device having the IP address in the case that the IP address is an address fixedly assigned by a user. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
