<p>Two yarns are supplied to a twisting head (7) from bobbins (2a, 2b), one yarn being taken through a hollow spigot (4) that supports the other bobbin. The other yarn passes through a yarn guide (12) at the end of a rotating arm (11) mounted on a hollow shaft (5). Both yarns then pass through the hollow shaft (5) before entering the twisting head (7). An independent claim is also included for the process of producing a twist selvedge with unidirectional twist by including an appropriately controlled de-twisting device of this kind with a single yarn tensioner in the yarn supply. The drive (13) can be taken directly from the twisting head (7) or a separate motor controlled from the movement of the twisting head can be used. The rotating parts of the de-twisting device are enclosed in a cover to separate them from the material being processed.</p> |
