<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a timbre parameter editing apparatus and method and a program therefor that enables intelligible and intuitive editing of formant parameters used for speech synthesis, and to reduce the volume of data to be saved, after editing. <P>SOLUTION: The timbre parameter editing apparatus is provided with a storage means storing dictionary data including timbre parameters prescribing timbres etc., for pronunciation, character by character; a readout means of reading timbre parameters, corresponding to specified characters from of the dictionary data; a display means, an operating means changing timbre parameters; and a control means causing the display means to display shapes of formants prescribed with the timbre parameters read by the readout means, performing control so that the shapes on a time axis are visible, and displaying shapes of the formants having been changed, when the timbre parameters are changed through the above operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
