<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening/closing locking device for a glove box allowing improvement of the operability of a knob from the driver's seat, prevention of step generation between the glove box and an instrument panel, and prevention of single hanging of right and left locking sections. <P>SOLUTION: The device locks or unlocks the glove box turnably mounted to the instrument panel of the vehicle from the instrument panel when the glove box is closed. The opening/closing locking device for the glove box comprises an operation portion that is disposed at a position near the driver's seat than the lateral center of the glove box, is mounted to the instrument panel side of the instrument panel and the glove box, and has a push type knob, a pair of locking parts correspondingly disposed on both sides in the lateral direction of the glove box, and a transmission section for transmitting a movement of the operation portion to each of the pair of locking parts using tension/compression of a transmission member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
