PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointer type meter which reduces the number of light sources and realizes downsizing and thinning of outside dimensions. SOLUTION: A base 31 of a pointer 33 rotating on a dial 24 is provided with a truncated cone section 43 having a truncated cone shape, of which the inclined circumferential surface forms a reflective surface 44. Three LEDs 36 are placed in the vicinity of a rotating shaft 33 on a substrate 27 placed on a back surface 25 of the dial 24 so that they circularly surround the rotating shaft 33 in an area facing a hole 23 of the dial 24. Light emitted from each LED is allowed to radially diverge off the reflective surface 44 toward a surface 21 of the dial 24. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
