<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for properly cleaning a transfer part (transfer roller) by preventing transfer memory phenomenon. <P>SOLUTION: During a process for cleaning the transfer roller, a controller 23 alternately performs first control for not electrifying a photoreceptor drum 11 and applying a transfer bias voltage and a first bias voltage of reverse polarity to the transfer roller 14, and a second control for electrifying the photoreceptor drum and applying a second bias voltage (including ground potential) which has the same polarity as that of the transfer bias voltage and of which absolute value is smaller than the transfer bias voltage on the transfer roller. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
