<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable image forming apparatus by preventing curling up of a blade of a photoreceptor. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus is provided with a photoreceptor, an electrifying means, a writing device, a developing means, a transfer means to transfer paper and a cleaning blade for the photoreceptor. A toner band is produced in a main scanning direction of a non image region in the vicinity of a region before a first image region on the photoreceptor and transferred to transfer paper or an intermediate transfer body. When a set printing number is smaller than the first reference value, the length of the toner band in the sub scanning direction is changed according to: the total pixel number written to the region of a specified length from both ends of the cleaning blade when total prints of the number of pages of a second standard value which is the latest in the past are created; and temperature inside the device immediately before formation of the toner band. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
