PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retina scanning and display device in which a driver easily recognizes various information such as traffic information while driving by locating the position of a picture (virtual image) for displaying the information at the position at which the driver usually watches while driving, i.e., the focal point position of the eyes of the driver while driving. SOLUTION: The retina scanning and display device which displays a picture by scanning the retina of the eyes with light corresponding to a picture signal, is characterized by that the device is provided with: a distance varying means 6 which varies the distance of the picture; and a distance control means 7 which controls the distance of the picture by controlling the distance varying means 6 according to the velocity of a moving body on which the driver rides.
