<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side air bag device allowing an inflation and deployment form which has a simple structure, can be stored at a predetermined position of a vehicle body compactly without being bulky, is easily mounted to the vehicle body, and can buffer and support an occupant stably and accurately in inflation and deployment. <P>SOLUTION: The side air bag device 10 is mounted to a storage section 21 facing the cabin side of a base member 20 to be mounted in the longitudinal direction of a vehicle body window frame R in a state that an air bag 1 is stored and fixed and covers a cover member 30 is covered. An extension section 31 of the cover member 30 extending from the upper end edge of the base member 20 to the back side is firmly supported and fixed to a mounting section 22 projected and molded on the back surface of the storage section 21 facing the cabin outside of the base member 20.
