<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive image recording material having excellent chemical resistance and plate wear in an image part, showing significant improvement in the plate wear by burning treatment, and being recordable with an IR laser, and also to provide a planographic printing plate using the above material. <P>SOLUTION: The image recording material has an intermediate layer and a photosensitive layer containing a novolac phenol resin and a photo-thermal converting agent and recordable with IR laser light, successively layered on a supporting body. The intermediate layer contains a polymer having an acidic group and interacting with the novolac phenol resin included in the photosensitive layer. The planographic printing plate having further excellent plate wear is obtained by imagewisely exposing the image recording material to an IR laser, developing, and heat treating at 150 to 300°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
