This device comprises plates made from a mild magnetic material (20-21) embedded in the tool to be fastened, more particularly the said punch (2), interacting with magnetic suckers (10, 11) fastened facing the said plates on the movable press member (1) to which the tool is to be fastened, the said suckers being of the flux switchover type, in which a magnetic circuit comprising two permanent magnets makes it possible to establish or eliminate an attractive force by means of a pulse of current applied to the winding (coil) surrounding one of the two magnets and reversing the magnetic flux in the said magnet. <IMAGE>
